OUR MISSION
Simply put, our mission is to help the most vulnerable students in our city to stay in school and complete their education.

APEED Benin is based in the northern city of Parakou, in Benin, West Africa. Based on the edge of the Sahel, Parakou has high rates of poverty and families often can’t earn enough money to pay the annual $30 school fees.
Students who do attend school often aren’t able to buy a uniform, textbooks or basic equipment like pens and paper. At school, teachers often lack any formal training and the average class size of 80 students.
All of this means that students in Benin face barriers to getting an education.
That’s where APEED Benin comes in. Each year we support 120 of the most vulnerable children in Parakou. The children are orphans or have left their families in the surrounding villages and towns to come to Parakou to go to school, and struggle to survive, often living on their own.
By providing scholarships, tutoring, textbooks and equipment, APEED Benin helps students to stay in school and complete their education.
