OUR WORK

 

APEED Benin works every year with 120 students in Parakou, a city in the north of Benin, Africa. Since 2007, we have supported over 1,200 students to continue school.

 

The Schoolbooks Program

This inititiative provides 120 students with basic school materials. Each year, an annual ceremony is held to distribute exercise books, pens, a maths set, a uniform and a school bag. 

 

The Scholarships program

While primary school is free, students in secondary school are required to pay a fee of $30 per year. We provide 120 students with partial payment (75%) of their school fees so they can continue their education. 

 

The Library

This program funds a library where students can access textbooks, school equipment, computers and tutoring. The library also acts a space where the students can congregate and connect with the broader student community of students, who face similar struggles in their daily lives.
